Gifts to Geneva High School Alumni Scholarship contribute to...
In 2021, Matt and Santa Abraham established the Geneva High School Alumni Scholarship to support graduates of Geneva High School in pursuing their education at Finger Lakes Community College. Since its inception, the scholarship has already awarded more than $8,000 to students, helping ease the financial burden of college and making higher education more accessible. Recipients like Ryan Scaglia (featured in the video above) represent the growing impact of this effort.
Matt, a 1990 Geneva High graduate who now teaches and coaches in the district, understands firsthand the challenges students face when financing a college education. “We want to help alleviate some of that burden so students can focus on their academics,” he shared. “I take great pride in being a product of the Geneva school system and hope this scholarship helps others achieve success.”
Their goal is to inspire the Geneva community to continue building this fund. As part of FLCC Laker Day of Giving, Matt and Santa have committed to matching donations up to $1,000—doubling the impact of community contributions.
Santa Abraham emphasized the long-term vision: “We want this scholarship to be sustainable for many years to come. It doesn’t matter how old a student is or what their major is—the only requirement is that they are a Geneva graduate.”
On May 7, your donation to the Geneva High School Alumni Scholarship can help unlock the $1,000 match and expand opportunities for deserving students at FLCC.
* Note: This scholarship is not managed by the Geneva School District.
